The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
